Question for devout Christians

"Why has the role of the brother of Jesus been almost obliterated from the consciousness of continuing church traditions"?
Well I would not consider myself "devout" but I suppose that Peter and Paul just seemed to accomplish more than James in terms of promoting the Gospel message. I guess just being related to someone famous isn't enough to make the world take notice.
