Ok I live in the area that Tommy;s family is from and didn't know these people were gypsies!! His cousin that was talking Danny had a white shirt on at the wedding and his sister went to school with my kids. No one knew they were gypsies till they told everyone they were going to be on this show. His sister was at the bar when the cousin/bridesmaid (in red dress) was talking she was the big girl with glasses. Anyway she is not a modest/virgin type. She has a BAD reputation!! So obviously not all gypsy girls live the modest life that has been shown on these shows. They also have a gay sister and that is not something you see on these shows.

I question that all of these people are true gypsies. I think it's become "cool" to say your a gypsy rather than admit you're just white lower class or white trash.

I would like to see some serious research and genealogy done to support the claims that these people are gypsy or even travellers.

And yes, I agree, the term "gypsy" has been appropriated because it's easier than admitting they're just ignorant, regressive white people.

I too live where Tommy lives. My husband & I both went to school with "Big" Tommy and his brothers. We have always known they were gypsies. "Little" Tommy is not the first in the family to marry a "gorger" (I'm sure that is spelled incorrectly)- his younger brother married a "gorger" when she was 14. Needless to say, 4/5 children later the marriage ended.

MUTwirler-Did any of the girls in Big Tommys side finish school, because the ones my kids went to school with did and even went to/are going to college...the one girl dates non gypsey boys and like I said the other one is gay. They live in a house, work normal jobs etc..Do you know if Tommy and Chelsea actually live in the camper they showed on the show? I know their Facebook pages just says they live in Ripley and I know they are having a boy in about a month...

I didn't know them until high school. I don't remember them having a sister- I just remember brothers. As you can imagine, I'm sure their attendence wasn't the greatest. The younger brother of "Big" Tommy moved after he and his 14 year old bride were married. I will do some investigating and let you know. I know in America some of the gypsy's do finish school and go to college. I'll do some checkin...
