shareDid the original cut of the movie have any content that didn't make it to the version broadcast on Cartoon Network?
The reason I ask is because Dish Network rated it as an "R (SC)" but the actual broadcast mentioned it was "edited for content" and the rating shows it as a "PG (LV)".
I'm wondering if the movie was edited and Dish didn't modify their rating, or if they just messed up the rating completely."
That's a good question. Maybe I wasn't paying attention closely enough but some parts did seem kinda choppy like there were missing scenes or something.
"Weird is just a side effect of being awesome."
I doubt this was rated r this movie reminded of one of those bullying movies on lifetime except a little toned down.
Theres nothing r rated in this movie its barley pg imo
In the movie they say crap
Theres an innuendo were tommy and sarah are at the library,in his head he hears his grandmother saying to picture somebody naked when nervous
I guess the whole opening might be a tad intense for younger audiences(under 9 years old)
At lunch tommy gets his face pushed into the table
Matt throws tommy into the locker
Kyles face is bruised(Self inflected)
A kid is beaten up,hes not shown getting beaten up,but its obvious the bullies are hitting him and hes seen with bruises later
When they break into tommys house and his grandmother gets hurt, i thought that was a little much but it wasnt too terrible, she just falls but still thats kinda sad.
One more thing i thought was a little much for cartoon network,I think matts brother tells him that they ll dress in ski masks to teach tommy a lesson after the competition
cool thread. i am Howard Alter, The Producer. The rating is PG. it is showed up as R on Dish. Should have been NR or not rated! Thanks for watching Contest and having such a strong sense of the details. Appreciate it. If you ever have any questions about the film let me know. You can also email me directly at [email protected]. You rock!
Was the Cartoon Network version edited? I didn't catch the airing, but I bought the DVD and watched it yesterday. It was a great film, but I can't imagine CN letting some of the innuendo (like the stuff in the basket at the store) get past, although that was one of the funniest parts.

Passable movie for a very very young audience. Story is cheesy, obvious plot holes, the acting lacks on emotions ..it all seems very artificial. Well it's what it is, a movie for kids. Thought I might be watching something else. Was expecting to see Duty in a serious drama movie, like Blackbird, not in a childish flick as this was. Did like his early short performance in LOST.
