oh man that *beep* ending was so sad, the racist dude try's to blow his brains out and Danny Glover stops him and hugs him and walks out with him. I shed a tear when Danny was huggin him, such a powerful scene. And then it said the government executed him for killing the cop. Hahaha I guess Danny shoulda jus let him blow his brains out.
shareI agree. Everything about that moment from Glover's speech leading up to the gunman realizing how hopeless his situation was to put the gun in his mouth. Yet after all that, Danny Glover was still able to embrace him to show that all life is worth it despite the mistakes of the past. I thought it was a satisfying end although a lot don't like it.
I guess it's also meant to redeem him as a father figure in our eyes since it is implied throughout the movie that he wasn't the greatest father to his own son.
