Terrible ending

Fun film but ruined by the stupid Hollywood, cultural marxist ending... where Brad Pitt realises he's "just the same as the thing he hates" LOL - so he can be saved from suicide long enough to get the death penalty anyway for killing an admittedly stupid cop who couldn't leave well enough alone. Then they dedicate the film to this cop after essentially showing that he had it coming.

You know, the rest of the film wasn't sugar coated nor did it try its best to defy stereotypes which are, let's face it, stereotypes for a reason. Why then this stupid ending? To give Danny Glover a reason for being in the film?
