It's like saying Q is more valuable than James Bond.
When push comes to shove, Hiro is an asset to the team, but an actual detriment in battle.

Wow, talk about an overreaching comment. Bond does a lot of superlative cunning shit that has absolutely nothing to do with Q's gadgets. The gadgets come into play a few times during every movie, most of the time he's simply outsmarting and outmaneuvering his enemies.
You could say that Fred is the most valuable member of the group, because if he hadn't paid for the suits to be made... all the nerds' engineering genius would have been wasted.

So you basically skipped the part where he was the motivation for the group (the people wanted to help him by finding the masked man), the inventor of the suits and the one who reprogrammed Baymax. Not to mention that he was the one who decided to enter the unstable field to rescue Abigail. Yeah the only real hero of the group is bound to be the most worthless member... Geez
...but they hung him anyway.

Hiro had the BEST tech.....the micro bots, it's just that his tech had been stolen by Callahan. Since he didn't have his tech, like the other did, laser hands, gliding disks, box of chemical balls....etc. you can say that, but if you look at it taking everyone to defeat Callahan, that is what Hiro created, that was HIS tech, so Hiro actually was the MOST formidable. All of them would have been less if their tech weapons were taken away which is what happened to Hiro.
Well Baymax wouldnt be fighting evil if Hiro wasnt telling him to, would he!
And if Hiro didnt want to have Baymax do all the heroing for him, he'd make himself a badass flying superhero suit.
