cancer reason to slut around & be miserable to family?
So her husband goes to make a move, and she's upset (I think) when he went to move bra strap (due to her mastectomy).
Rather than TRY to work through this little setback (like TALK to each other. Or let's be fair, he'd have made another move later that night or whatever. He obviously still was attracted & loved her, wanting to have sex with his ugly---and I mean that more INSIDE than out, obnoxious wife), she decides to take her angst, anger or whatever & become the crazy drunk, town slut.
REALLY?!!
I don't suspect that's logical extension or reaction to cancer (not even terminal at that point). Unless one's already an a@#hole.
Add in her atrocious, arrogant SELF-INVOLVED, inexcusably RUDE conduct at a surprise party he throws for her, and I want to see her run over by a car fleeing there.
Truly, her general disdain for anyone OTHER than herself was beyond comprehension.
Like here's an IDEA....MAYBE spend whatever quality time you might have left with your young kids! Isn't human nature & maternal instinct suppose to trump all your narcissistic tendencies??
We're suppose to develop sympathy & compassion here? Don't think so.
...well sorry if anyone's offended but obviously, I loathed this character.
She spends the night screwing some dude, doesn't come home & speaks to everyone (long before sick) with air of elitism & clear antipathy.
OH and funny she would mention in one scene, she IS vain & into herself & her appearance.
Granted, they have done a LOT of work on Collette since her "MurieL" days but some thing's there's simply NO true fixing.
She's just plain odd & homely looking. I AM sorry to say the obvious & truly am not trying to be mean...she just IS.
Yes, she can act---and is looking immensely better with every film-- but between the horse-mouth, wide eyes, odd face. Well... NOTHING pretty....that line does NOT belong with her cast in this role!
I could pass for Jacqueline Bisset's daughter well before her & that's still given ALL she's done to improve her looks.

I could find no redeeming nature, NO atonement in the end. And word to the wise, Sorry just doesn't excuse a life & myriad unforgivable choices (yes, ALL choices)!
Because you know what, we ALL are going to go. NO excuse for behaving like that (maybe instead think of how you are going to hell being the sad excuse of a person you are, having chosen to spend this gift, your LIFE, going through it like this).
I would think it MIGHT just be time for serious contemplation & reflection. OR every moment with the person I most love (my kids who will grow up without me) but what do I know?
Husband should have KICKED her out LONG before she "found her conscience" (or whatever!..don't think she did anyhow)....and yeah, LONG before she died.
She couldn't die fast enough.
