I hate snakes too, but spiders even more.
If the inspiration had been a creepy spider, there is no way I would have been able to approach that table to get the mandatory ingredient!!! I just would have thrown in the towel at that point !
She was very brave !!

No, the one who should have "thrown in the towel" is that horrible host!

Only a CREEP would do such a thing to another human being.

I would hate to be his neighbor; can you imagine what he would think is "appropriate" behavior?
