Precisely ! there's even a pic of him and Bryan Fuller hanging out together floating around somewhere . Plus transvestite serial killers are obviously his thing, lmao
He did win an Oscar for playing a transgender person in Dallas Buyers Club ☺
He might be too busy if the DC Cinematic Universe picks up after Suicide Squad and if he gets cast as Lestat for The Vampire Chronicles reboot. He wouldn't have been my first choie for Lestat anyway, even though he was a good pick.
I'm looking forward to his Joker even though Michael Pitt was the one I was rooting for to get that role , lol. And I think he's a good choice for Lestat ( better than RDJ for sure ), but it's completely unnecessary to try and remake Interview when there's a whole series of other books they should be making movies for by now. If anything, remake Queen Of The Damned..... or make a Lestat/Vampire Chronicles TV series .
I personally feel like the original movie of Interview missed a lot of important things from the original book and even changed crucial elements, so I think it needs a remake to truly honor the book. Anne Rice made a lot of the changes she did because of Hollywood's homophobia at the time, because her vampires are all bisexual upon being turned. Tom Hiddleston would have been my pick for Lestat.
The only change I had a problem with was Armand, really. It still followed the book pretty closely while still keeping some originality. Adaptations don't have to be 100 percent exactly like the source material (otherwise, things get a bit predictable), as proven by this very show we're on a message board for. And I think their bisexuality is still implied well enough without it being spelled out for people. Tom Hiddleston is a pretty good fit for the role, though. He'd be better for Lestat than James Bond anyway , lol
I didn't like that they made it where Louis was married and his wife died in childbirth instead of him blaming himself for the death of his saintly brother. I just think the book's explanation was much more interesting. It was a wonderful adaptation, but I would love to see another look at it. What really worries me is that the current screenplay apparently combines Interview with the Vampire and The Vampire Lestat. Anne Rice's books can't be done justice when their mashed together.
I think Jame Gumb should be in his late 30s to mid 40s personally. Evan Peters is too young, IMO. Jame Gumb is a man who's tried for years to become a woman and is finally desperate enough that he wants to resort to murder to create his woman suit.
Oh, sorry, I made a mistake in my answer. I wanted to say Gustaf Skarsgard, not Alexander Skarsgard, hehe. But I agree with you. Evan is a bit young for the role. Jame Gumb is 35 years old in the novel.
Josh Brolin. He's a terrific actor and he pulled off a similar voice and style to Buffalo Bill in True Grit. He'd just have to change his look a little.
