Who enjoyed the film?

I watched it this evening and I thought it was decent.

Much better than Scary Movie 3 and 4. It wasn't a pop culture *beep* fest and actually tried to develop a story.I wouldn't say it's a masterpiece, but for people to come here and say its trash is pretentious and snobby.

The movie was kind of fun up until towards the end when they didn't seem to know where or how to wrap it up. Besides that, it was what I expected.

I hope there's a sequal. I think it reset the bar for spoofs. After scary movie 2, the bombardment and lack of ANY substance in spoof movies has raised. This might hopefully have them trying a tad bit harder.

I felt the same way. It would be a worthy runner up to Scary Movie 1 and 2. The rest of the movie was hilarious, but the ending was just plain lame.

Just got home from seeing this movie. My husband has been wanting to see it from watching the trailers. I have to say it was short and sweet, but even still it could've been 10 min shorter. I also agree that the ending was kind of lame, but I wasn't expecting much going in. All in all it had some good laugh out loud moments. I loved Marlon Wayans in this and think it got right what everyone loved about the original Scary movie.

I am so shocked this got a 9% on rotten tomatoes, but I look more at the audience score, which was 87%.

I thought it was HILARIOUS, I laughed so hard I cried on three separate occasions!

reply

This is a perfect example of why I don't trust Metacritic or Rotten Tomatoes. I thought the movie was hilarious too and I'm looking forward to seeing it again. The ending went to "serious" scary movie territory so it was kind of out place with the rest of the movie, but I still liked it.

I actually thought this movie was great.
Some parts were actually fricking hilarious.
The only thing that sucked was the ending. It actually went a little bit "horror movie" esque, and didn't really fit with the film's goofy mood.

reply

I know right! It just seemed kind of out of place from the tone of the rest of the film.

I enjoyed it

Exactly what you said, it was a much better spoof movie than the others (Epic Movie, Date Movie, Dance Flick, Disaster Movie, Superhero Movie, Stan Helsing), and Scary Movie 1 & 2 are basically the only good ones; although Scary Movie 3 & 4 are pretty good. A Haunted House was hilarious, one of the funniest movies I've seen in a while, the whole theater was laughing throughout the movie, especially when he had 'sex' with the stuffed animals.

reply

I didn't care for it at all and I wanted to walk out but I stayed and just kept hoping that it would get better. The theater that I was in was pretty much dead quiet, there were a few scenes that everyone was laughing but they were far and in between.

reply

I did! Loved it!

well you can't compare it to scary movie 3 and 4 because the wayans had nothing to do with those movies......only scary movie 1 and 2.

reply

I guess everybody has their opinions, but i thought this movie was absolutely terrible, didn't make me laugh even once. I thought scary movie 3 and 4 way way better..

reply

I thought this movie was funny as hell. The reason the first 2 scary movies were good is because the Wayans brothers wrote them, the rest of them were written by other people. I don't understand all the hate the movie has gotten. Also, for the people on other threads who are saying they walked out... Stfu, no you didn't you little trolls.

reply

Turned it off after 6 mins...this garbage made me hate Marlon. I had to think of him in Norbit to curb my anger lol

You Suck...now deal with it.

reply

I thought this movie was pretty funny! The funniest spoof movie I have seen in a while. It wasn't all funny but most of it was. I hope Cedric and David Koechner do more movies together because they were both great in this one!!

reply

I laughed, many times...it's a comedy...did it's job.

reply

While i'm not saying this film is great I did enjoy it far more than the Oscar bait of the awful Django Unchained and the blandness of Silver Linings Playbook
