'Sequel' to be shown this year...
Well not a direct sequel, but a game set in the same universe called: Triad Wars.
United Front is returning to the Sleeping Dogs universe with Triad Wars...
It's not known if Wei Shen will be back as a playable character or just an NPC with you being a new character as it's just set in the same universe and not a "direct sequel".

But as this article claims not a lot is known about the game and it could just be a mobile/tablet game...
United Front have posted this "blurry" teasing pic on their Twitter page...

That's not a mobile game.
In fact someone asked what the game was running on and UF replied it's on the PS4.
Is that Wei Shen in the pic, or an new character?
Hard to tell.
So what do you want from the next game?
For me, Sleeping Dogs was a great template...but flawed.
The vehicle handling was horrible.
The hand to hand combat was OK, but needed tweaking.
Gun-play was weak.
The story had gaps...finish a mission and wake up in a new apartment...where did it come from?
Some characters had little introduction and dissipated just as fast. Like the girlfriend aspect, date them once and they are never seen again.
The map didn't feel "open" enough.
The free-running was buggy.
The main missions were fine, but there was a lack of side missions/quests/distractions. In a open world game like this, you really need them.
It actually reminded me a lot of the first Assassin's Creed game. Great concept but let down by little niggles that could have been ironed out.
Then Assassin's Creed II came out...wow.
I know it sounds like I didn't like the game, I did. I really enjoyed it...but it was one of those frustrating games where you could see how great it could have been if they had just worked on it a bit longer.
Plus I don't think United Front had much or even any experience in making an open world game like this.
Still the new one is coming and I hope they have listened to feedback and learnt from the last game...
I'm curious as to how far along in development they are.
Wonder if it'll be released this year?
And so, God came forth and proclaimed widescreen is the best.
