Uhm awful

I have seen better low budget films than this one... The acting was terrible, the plot ripped from Amityville Horror, (not a horrible idea, but horribly executed..) and none of the charactors did anything remotely normal... Like turning on a light when awoken in the middle of the night... Just awful... Anyone else?

I'd have to watch it again (which I won't) but why was he constantly walking around the house with a flashlight.

reply

I didn't mind the acting. I just didn't like the standard ghost encounters. So typical and waste of imagination. It dragged and dragged.

reply

the acting was terrible ill grant you that.

I dont recall one person screaming, the whole film (that would have required an ounce of acting talent), Plot holes aren't a problem because there is no story.

I thought it was pretty bad. Watched it last night with a big group of guys and we mocked it the whole time. At least it's fun to watch with a group like that.

Try it when you're home alone at night just before bed. You may not only jump a few times, but piss your pants.

The acting was OK except for the woman who used to live in the house.
Whew, she was terrible!

But what bothered me was: What the heck was the point of this film?
To stay out of haunted houses? OK but hasn't this been done & done?
NOTHING else to the script than that?!

I love indie horror but this was pointless. It had some scares yes.

I just realized the main actor wrote the script too. Hmmm.

I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus.
Didn't he discover America?
Penfold, shush.

I actually thought it was halfway decent. I'm always looking for haunted house movies I haven't seen, as they are my favorite. I stumbled upon this on Netflix and just finished watching it.

Sure, the acting wasn't the greatest, the dialogue was a little flat at times, but it was a pretty good haunted house movie. Sure, it ripped a few things off from Poltergeist and Paranormal Activity, but it had it's moments. I'm not big on jump scares, but I felt this movie used them effectively. My number one issue was that he simply never turned his lights on. If I were in his position, I wouldn't even need the flashlight because the lights would go on immediately every time something happened. In one scene at night he's even sitting right next to a lightswitch!

Weird how the girl just seemed to disappear. I thought she was just moving out, but maybe she simply left him and broke off the relationship. Strange, she's never mentioned again after that one phone call the day she left, after he finds her note (which was fairly early in the film). One simple phone call to her later on, or him mentioning her in one sentence later at some point would have cleared this up, but I don't recall it happening.

Another thing, that ghost must have been a Sith Lord, he had some pretty good Force abilities.

I also wonder about the ending. Apparently the ghost followed him, without there being a hint of it ever following any of the other previous occupants. Although maybe it did follow Sue, since she had all the religious items around her. But you would think she would've said something if it did, warned him maybe.

Still, all in all, was a fun watch. 6/10

took a turn when the ghost was so strong and followed him
the part with the flashlight coming from the other room was kinda scary though
and the rising from the bed was just not cool
it was just okay
why wasn't he ever scared

He was never scared because he was hoping it was haunted. He didn't turn the lights on because he wanted to see the ghost not scare it away.
