Perfect!

Just watched it again, because it's generally agreed there is so much going on you can't pick up everything on the first viewing.
Anyone tuning in expecting "Black Mirror" will be disappointed, as this is very different. I adore the fact the decided to buy a real "Messiah" script that was not used, and then (to quote Brooker) 'drew cocks all over it'. This is of course exactly how Airplane came about, they brought in a disaster movie script and just put the gags into it.

Brooker is making a great point (as he does in much of his work) about how formulaic some of these shows are. 'Cloth' is perfect parody because it was a real crime drama script, and what they have added to this script is to show how much of this format is "Paint by Numbers".

The speed with which the gags are delivered is excellent, which is why it deserves a few viewings. If you are concentrating on the script, you will surely be missing some visual jokes, which pack the screen. This rate of jokes will lead to some that fall flat, but most are pure gold.

Give it a go, but watch both episodes a couple of times. You will find things in there that make you laugh. What I'e taken from it is that I could probs write a tortured Police Detective drama, but I'd never manage something as nuanced and funny as this.
