I'm astonished this message board isn't busier

I just discovered this series through Hulu & my first impression is that it's on the same level or close to The Inbetweeners. Considering how that show is a cult hit I thought this would go over just as well. I have to admit, The British seem to have a gift with creating cringe worthy comedy that makes you feel incredibly uncomfortable and laugh at the same time.

I don't think it was a huge success when it was showed. A shame, because it was great, but it's possible a lot of people were put off by the pitch. I was, and it's only when I caught the beginning of ep 2 by accident that I saw how good it was.

I quite agree. It did have a faltering start, but come next January and I'm sure we shall see the series really take off. Great cast with some outstanding comedy acting from a well written script. Hope series 2 gets a BAFTA nomination.

a-hill112, a relative of Dylan Edwards prehaps? Or Ed Hill? Just realised the other day that the guy I keep seeing on TV that looks like someone I was at school with is actually one and the same person! Well done Ed!

I'm his proud father. He is in Pramface series 2 tonight and in 'Death in Paradise' on Tuesday 5th. His fiancée will be filming another series of 'Misfits' next year.
Good to know that you are following him.

I kept seeing this guy on tv thinking "he looks so much like someone who i went school with" it was bugging me so i checked it out only to realise it was actually the same person! i'm sorry to say i've not watched anything he has been in except the orange mobile ad (two young boys so don't get to watch a lot of telly, too exhausted!) but i shall make more of an effort! I was in his tutor (Mr Toye's) at Sidmouth '96 - 2000 but I doubt he would remember me. Congrats on his success! :)

reply

Excellent i hadn't heard anything about the next series of Misfits.

Only it involves sex with a minor. I see you like that, don't you?

reply

16 is legal in UK. It would be illegal if Laura was in position of trust, but only in England and Wales.

reply

what an inane comment.

Firstly teenage pregnancy is a problem in the UK and simply because they are minors doesn't stop them from having sex AND getting pregnant.

Secondly, simply because one of them is below 18 doesn't make anything illegal or unworthy of reflection.

are you suggesting that because you seem to find it 'somehow wrong' it shouldn't be raised as a subject ? surely the series is raising the problems after the act and not glamorising the act itself. That's adult, not salacious.
