What two songs was he playing in the ep? Especially that first one. So cheerful, I just want to listen to it forever.

I recognised them when I heard them, but hard to remember now. The first was a rag, possibly the Maple Leaf Rag (theme to The Sting). The other I can't remember, other than that it was a song I associated with an ended romance, not an engagement.

The second song was "I'll Never Smile Again" It's an old Frank Sinatra song. I think from the 40s.

It was a rag, but definitely not Maple Leaf Rag.

Look for Scott Joplin on youtube. He was an incredible musician!

The ragtime song was definitely a Scott Joplin song but it wasn't "Maple Leaf Rag." If I'm not mistaken it was Joplin's "Fig Leaf Rag" and it sounded a lot like Joshua Rifkin's arrangement of the song.
