Ratings were WEAK

2.6 million viewers and only a 0.5 in the A18-49 demo. I guess it really will be limited series run.

reply

I'm in that age demo and I watched it. I hope it won't be a limited series. I loved it!

reply

I guess the numbers are okay for a cable series but hopefully it can be a full series since it does have a lot of potential.

reply

Hi monstermayhem,

Agreed that the numbers were not great but okay for a cable series that was unrolled to great fanfare. I checked the reviews which generally favorable except for Hinds' broad portrayal of the ex-president. I think it might have a chance to be picked up in the future. I know I'll be watching.

reply

If episode 3 draws below 1.3, I'm betting ep 4-6 don't air. .. unless some infomercials get bumped ;-)

reply

Maybe with only 6 episodes they'll run them all regardless of # of viewers. I thought it was trashy, and I need trashy right now.

reply

USA is not Fox, and I'm betting they'd rather have weak ratings on the Sunday night timeslot than no ratings at all. I doubt another SVU or NCIS marathon would give them better ratings in that timeslot.

reply

The ratings were average and it was in a tough slot.

We must be killers
Children of the wild ones
Killers
Where we got left to run?

reply

Can't say I'm surprised. I think most people are tired of politics and political dramas.

I agree, especially since the "good" characters are all stereotyped liberals. The feminist BS rhetoric is out of the 1970s. No doubt if it becomes a regular series, Elaine Hammond will be a female Martin Sheen from "West Wing" - the perfect president fought at every turn by the bad Republicans, conservatives, and religious nuts. Odd that a show that goes out of its way not to offend gays is almost devoid of important black and Hispanic political figures and has a former US president who slanders Italian-Americans. It is a lousy series and I have stopped watching it. At least they don't say President Garcetti is a pawn of the Mafia, or do they now.

reply

That's pretty awful. But it was in a really weird time slot. I have no idea what USA was thinking dragging it out past 11 on a Sunday.

It's good but it is against Breaking Bad, which I love but am DVRing and the Newsroom which I've heard mixed things about but is also a politcallish leftwingish show by the West Wing creator so they set themselves up for a rough battle.

I like the show! 2nd episode much better than the first.

reply

I didn't. It got worse with each episode so I stopped watching it. In real life, Garcetti would know what a lying, backstabbing, self-righteous b***h Elaine Hammond is and kick her bony butt out of his Administration.

reply

I think the target audience is more like age 35 or older, those who were old enough to know about and like/dislike the Clinton administration at the time. Audience in the age group 18-35 most likely would show less interest because they are too young to know about the many references in the show made to that era. If it had been measured without the younger subgroup, the rating would have been much higher.
