Ending (Spoilers, obviously)

I thought that compared to the rest of the movie, the ending felt rushed, I am fine with slower paced movies but at least stick with one pace; it just seemed like all of a sudden in the last 5 minutes (After more than an hour of build up) they wrapped things up really quickly which was fairly disappointing. Now the plot twist on the other hand; I quite enjoyed. Many people are complaining that it was too random, but it wouldn't exactly be a great plot twist if it were incredibly obvious. If the movie had ended with the revelation that the mother and boyfriend were sleeping together, people would have complained that it was a predictable ending. Another related complaint was that the father and boyfriend never interact, but this makes sense, because if they had spent time together on screen, it would have either made the ending very obvious, or very unrealistic. Also, upon watching the movie a second time, I noticed many signs that pointed subtly to the plot twist, for example, Brock (the father) and Phil (the boyfriend) both seem to make a lot of excuses to avoid having sex with their girlfriends, which makes sense because as we learn, they are both gay. Not to mention the two of them seem to repeatedly brush off other women who try to flirt with them. I think that the people who complain that the plot twist made no sense simply didn't pay attention while viewing this film.

When Kat and Phil first met in the bar, I thought it was a gay bar because he totally looked like a homosexual with that outfit he was wearing. HELLO!
The fact that her gay guy friend never picked up on that is a bit of a stretch.

So the ending while rushed, was somewhat foreshadowed.
Poor Kat is going to need years and years and years of therapy, growing up in that house alone with those two parents.
