Does communist Jackie really deserve any more success in the west?
It's difficult to believe ANY western filmmakers would want to work with him in light of his full-blown membership in the Chinese Communist Party, and the absolute and wisespread hatred he has engendered in the three places that GAVE HIM his fame and fortune: Hong Kong, Taiwan and America. I know Renny Harlin's just a journeyman these days (but still a strong action director), but still, why hitch your pony to this wagon? Then again, maybe Harlin's the best Chan can do at this point!
For those who haven't been keeping score, here's a refresher on Jackie's escapades since 2008, when he took his career to the Mainland, cozied up to his new puppetmasters, and never looked back:

I could go on.
We should still love his old movies. They're great. Everything he's done since 2008 has been to please his communist overlords, and should therefore be approached with caution and judged accordingly. Even Skiptrace, frankly.
