It's one of the reasons why the people of NYC didn't want to rename a bridge after him. However, a bigger *beep* (Bloomberg) went against their wishes and renamed the bridge anyway. If you want a more honest depiction of Koch, see Outrage (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1049400/).

Uh huh. New Yorkers hated him so much, they elected him three times.

They elected Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Giuliani and Obama twice. Bloomberg was elected 3 times. Lots of people didn't like them.
