Enjoyed the film, but where was Murdoch?

Firstly, overall I enjoyed the film and thought it was very well done. However, I was surprised to find not even one mention of Rupert Murdoch or the effect of his indirect influence on Koch's Mayoral career.

Koch himself acknowledged in more than a few interviews that Murdoch's decision to direct his editors at the Post to support his campaign basically elected him. There was even a story of Ed's where he spoke of Rupert calling personally in his thick Australian accent one morning to let him know the Post had come out in support of him, which Koch acknowledged as the turning point of his underdog campaign. I believe I once also read that Rupert helped push Koch into his failed bid for governor also.

I always thought it was an interesting thread that was left uncovered. Especially as it was one of the first instances of Murdoch trying to influence politics in the US and he has become a much more influential media proprietor in America since. Obviously the film is about Koch and not Murdoch, but I still felt it deserved to be mentioned.
