I like the show but at the same time I cringe

I love the show (I don't even know why), but these people are soooo weird that it makes me cringe of embarrassment for them. I guess it's out of empathy.
I understand that Joan has been craving fame very badly her whole life and this show is her in, but she and the others on the show either don't realize or don't care how they come off. Like I said, I am embarrassed for them.
