Is it just me or is Joan totally messed up on pills all the time?

I'm pretty sure she is high constantly... Her half open eyes, always eating something and looking half awake when doing so... Pretty sure she's on a bunch of pain pills or something.

Apparently she has Parkinson's and I kind of figured that was responsible for a lot of her slow movements and constant drowsiness.

Probably a combination of Parkinson's Disease and whatever medication for it.

Funny!

I saw on one episode that they increased her Parkinson's medication and hopefully she will walk better.

Joan is totally messed up on pain killers. Okay, I understand she has Parkinson's but. I have known others with Parkinson's who refuse to walk around in a pill induced fog and are not doped up like Joan. I think she abuses them. She chooses to not deal with the pain but at the same time is in a permanent fog and is missing out on her life.
I can't believe she is allowed to drive!
Pain is a part of life and I wouldn't trade off being fully present in my life for being totally pain free.

Wow, you've offered some judgemental and ignorant speculation there. My friend's mother has Parkinson's, is on a strictly monitored medication regimen, doesn't abuse painkillers, and her movements, speech, etc are very similar to Joan's. And her mind/presence is sometimes 'foggy'.

So, it might be prudent (and respectful) to withhold your opinions about her motivations/behaviour/choices until you're personally privy to what's going on in her life.

We'll, if I we're on tele, than during that time I, personally wouldn't want to present a 'messed up on pills' image like the OP SAID. Why are you offended because I didn't start a Joan is messed up on pills thread. I'm just saying what I WOULD DO IF I WERE IN THAT SITUATION. Why would you be offended by my choice on my body honey? Plus I hope your mom doesn't drive while high either!

No, you rattled on presuming to know what's going on with Joan, physically and psychologically. The only 'what I would do' bit came at the end of your post.

Why would you be offended by my choice on my body honey?

Huh? Your post was mostly presumptuous prattle about Joan, not you.

Plus I hope your mom doesn't drive while high either!

Read my post again, I didn't mention my mother at all.

Wow, you're so much better than most. It must be cool to be you, looking down on others and passing judgment on things about which you know nothing. By the way, you'll look smarter if you use proper punctuation and spelling. Not a lot smarter, based on the kind of things you write, but maybe a little smarter.

She has Parkinson's Disease and probably takes a drug called Levodopa to prevent the tremors, but the side effect is it leaves you kind of loopy.

I just stumbled on this show, and I'm about 10 minutes in and thought D A M N, she is messed up!! I almost turned it off because I don't want to watch some show with a jacked up person, so i came here to comment. Glad I saw it's something other than plain drug addiction.

Debating with a fool is like spitting on a fish, it's best not to bother.

Your priorities are pretty damned "jacked up" if you're happy to hear that someone has a debilitating illness like Parkinson's instead of a painkiller habit...

At present nothing is possible except to extend the area of sanity little by little.
