I wouldn't say awful, more like a few years too late. If this came out several years earlier it would have been fine. However, after a string of Paranormal Activity movies, The Conjuring and others that I can't place right now it doesn't seem original.
shareI must admit it is quite boring at times compared to Hammer's other horror movies but it feels just like your average 21st century supernatural film to me. Just like The Conjuring, The Possession, etc. If you like those you should enjoy this.
