Why if the movie takes place in 1974...

Are they playing Billy Idols rebel yell in the girls room. That song wasn't released until 1984.

reply

The majority of songs used in this movie were released at least ten years later than 1974

I didn't hear Rebel Yell in this.

But if you are talking about Cum On Feel The Noise, that was the original done by the 70s band Slade.

reply

I have a feeling they believe it was an original song by Quiet Riot.

Wrong. Perhaps look up the soundtrack listing, kiddo.

Quiet Riot - Come on Feel the Noise and it was released in 1983 still incorrect though.

Edit - You are right it is the Slade version and not Quiet Riot.

"Cum On Feel the Noize" is a rock song originally released by Slade in 1973.

I was confused about this as well. I only know the 1983 cover version so I thought it was an '80s song all this time. I didn't know there was an original. Glad you cleared it up.

Cum On Feel the Noize

I impressed by 1973 having a song spelled in such a fashion. Slade was ahead of his time.

reply

I thought it was Twisted Sister in the 80s instead of QR...

reply

That vocal style was very common in metal at the time.

Have not seen this yet, but are you sure its rebell yell and not a Generation X song? He did front that band before going solo, and he did rerelease one of there songs under his name.

reply

so we got someone that doesnt know songs???

where was billy idols rebel yell????

and the cum on feel the noise (by quiet riot) was originally done in 73 by slade

why are we talking about this when the op got the song wrong????????

You should really look up the soundtrack listing before making such stupid comments. Rebel Yell isn't played a single time in the entire movie.

Cum on Feel the Noize by Slade - 1973

Telegram Sam by T. Rex - 1972

Bertha Butt Boogie by The Jimmy Castor Bunch - 1975 (only anachronistic song so far)

Angel by Acorns - 1958

Silver Machine originally by Hawkwind - 1972

There's only one song that doesn't fit the period, but it's only out by a year. Easily forgivable. Much more so than imaging hearing a song that isn't anywhere in the movie.

And I was so sure that every song I heard was from the 80s and not the 70s, oh well

reply

Oh,come on---virtually none of the very few songs played in the film were made past the '70s.

reply

OK, I don't quite understand why you felt any compulsion to post your reply, as the responses resolved the question months ago, and my post clearly indicated that I had misremembered the dates of the songs used, so your reply adds nothing of any value to the topic, and, in fact, states that since virtually none of the songs played in the film were made past the 70s, there were some that did, which has also been previously resolved months ago, and since it has been established that all of the songs were done in the 70s, your reply is, actually, not virtually, of no use to this topic.
