As of now teh IMDB rating for Sparks (2013) is 7.5
I laugh at IMDb ratings, most people who generate IMDB ratings seem to be thoughtless teens and easily entertained type of folk.
I couldn't find a single renowned reviewer rating for this here movie. So is it really as good as 7/10? I have strong doubts, but i haven't seen it yet.
My guess this one is about equivalent to a 30% RT/MC
It's up to 7.7 now. My guess is fans of the novel saw it at a festival so are over rating it. I just watched it and i'd say it's a lower budget Sin City / Watchmen type. It had a weird feel... it had very goofy over the top acting but also dark material in parts. I'd give it maybe a 6/10. The rating will definitely drop as more people see it but it wasn't really a "bad" movie. At least not for me. Hope this helps.
shareI rated it an 8. I watched it tonight. Had no idea what it was before I watched. It's probably closer to a 7, but I grade low-budget movies on a curve if they're done well and this one was.
shareconsidering the budget, it definitely earns a 7.5 in my book (if not higher)...Its a better film than many high budget super hero films i have seen in the past(i.e. elektra, the hulk, spawn, cat woman, fantastic 4 movies, batman forever, batman and robin..i could go on) i have rated over 2000 movies and been a member of IMDB for almost ten years (though that means absolutely jack *beep* )If you are a fan of superhero noir, than i say give this film a chance. Furthermore, this film has received good reviews from critics and currently has a 99% audience rating on RT. so yeah...whatever formula you used to derive your 30% RT rating seems to have failed....

This thing is going to have a 5/10 rating pretty soon. And if it ever has normal ratings on RT it will be 30% or less. Movie's a joke.
