Terrible = Immature children who don't understand 40s film noir.

reply

This movie doesn't understand 40s film noir or even quality film making.

Could you give us "children" some more examples of 40s film noir so we can see if we meet your crtieria for what counts as an adult?

reply

According to Film Noir, being an adult is being able to down a few bottles of scotch, smoke a few packs of cigarettes and still sweep the vamp off her high heels in her tight fitting dress.

Which means that despite my few decades under my belt, I'm not an adult yet.

it's fantastic that every board to a terrible movie has someone like you.

More specifically... terrible 40's film noir.

Terrible = people who can't even think of an argument to support their claim so they just copy the title of their thread into their post.

In fairness, they never said this movie was a film noir... and honestly the TRUE definition is the following:

Film noir (/fɪlm nwɑr/; French pronunciation: [film nwaʁ]) is a cinematic term used primarily to describe stylish Hollywood crime dramas, particularly those that emphasize cynical attitudes and sexual motivations.

It was a term used by a critic in the 1940s, and as we know now (or should) black and white film was a lot cheaper than it was to produce in color.

Now, everyone is within their right to pan a movie, but there is no need to go after someone for stating THEIR opinion on how they feel about the reviewers. If you want to bash the movie, you have to allow folks to praise it, and yes, even ridicule you if you wish to do the same to you.

I will admit I like the movie (but I've been a fan of the comics since they started), but even I see the faults in said movie. I can list the anachronisms and there is some stilted acting (but I see this in LARGE scale productions too - Cashmere's death in "Catching Fire" looked so fake it wast funny) but I won't criticize them for at least attempting the movie - especially since said movie has an INTERNATIONAL following. Not bad for an independently-produced and funded film (yeah, no fan help).

What the flying *beep* are you talking about? This isn't based on a comic book ._. I could never understand how cheesy movies like this get an audience. I saw an indie flick like this once and I regretted wasting my time with it so much so that I would have rather spent that time reading a religious comic book. The movie I saw was vs, some terrible super hero genre meets saw film that was directed, starred, and produced by an eye patch wearing douche that also made a movie about "extreme DDR"

An indie superhero film can work though, and I'm pretty freaking sure most of the people here don't know what they're talking about when they say every single superhero movie has to have a big budget. Go watch Jason Gunn's Super starring Rainn Wilson and Ellen Page.

Directors like these are a joke. They make horrible b rated action films without any kind of real raw emotion or substance and many times don't even understand the true art of filmmaking. How they get their movie made is dumbfounding. How could so much people be working on this and not think "y'know what, this is a pile of crap" especially since I'm assuming most of the people working on this we're trying to take it seriously. It's so bad it's not even laughable. It's just bad. Like a terrible YouTube fanfilm. Sure, they maybe had passion but they were completely in over their heads thinking they could match big movies like the avengers or the dark knight trilogy.

At least with super it didn't try to be anything. It was a mere coincidence that kick-ass was released around the same time(not to mention that ironically, it felt more although probably indirectly influenced by the comic book). I employ you to please elaborate on the appeal of films like these, please. It makes absolutely no damn sense to me.

it is based on a comic.

seems like the comic is just as bad as the film though. xD
