Questions about Season 4 (SPOILERS)

Okay....obviously I have forgotten certain plot points, but:

1.) People around town keep mistaking Sarah for Beth....but why didn't they previously hear about the later's suicide via the news? (Didn't she jump in front of a subway train?) Instead of saying, "Hi, Beth...you look different!" why aren't they saying, "Hi, Beth...YOU'RE ALIVE!!"

2.) When they want cells from the Leda line to fertilize....what makes Sarah's eggs more Leda-like than any of her sisters?

Answering based on what i remember...

1) Sarah assumed the identity of Beth, that is why. If I'm not mistaken, officially she is still Beth

2) Sarah and Helena, who are also twins, are the only ones among the clones who are fertile

also something to take into consideration even though I am not entirely sure... but I know they live in different areas from one another. So local news from one county is different from another. That could have played a role some how.

Another thing about #1 re: Beth: I'm not sure that the same amount of time has transpired in the show, not the 4 to 5 years that we've been waiting, with several months between seasons. I would guess the character's timelines are about half that. Most season's first episodes take off running right from where the last season left off.

Also, Beth's storyline all but disappeared until it came roaring back at the start of Season 4. I thought it was great, actually, but it was just a wee bit disconcerting until you realized which scenes were flashbacks and which weren't. It makes more sense on second watchings, but while there are still people in the 'current' timeline mistaking Sarah for Beth, some of the early S4 occurrences were scenes from the past.
