It's surreal.. that she won. CONGRATS!!

I get this dorky smile every time i see an article that she won and i still can't believe it. I thought a win is an impossible mission, since she is canadian, Orphan Black is not the best show on the planet and the competition is VERY thick.

I made peace with the fact that she is not gonna win and tried to be happy she got nominated. AND THEN THIS HAPPENS. And she breaks the internet, and people are talking about her and asking about who she is, and want to watch the show.... this is beyond incredible. I feel like a proud mother.

The feeling when you know someone is amazing, and you get to brag about them on social media and they win some prominent award and you get to say "I told you so". Because really, i knew she is special, we all did!

P.S. Where is that dude Whatlarks that was lurking around these forums for a long time? I need him/her to congrats us now and stop blabbing about how Tatiana had no chance of winning since Orphan Black was a *beep* show!

Congratulations Tatiana, you deserved it for a long time. Only the sky is a limit now!

I feel the same as you- she transcended the writing and the show.... I still think it's a good show... and she brought it home! I feel like my favorite team won the Super Bowl or something!

It's funny because the prices for the S1 and S2 box sets on Amazon went from basically around $10 to $20 as of yesterday!

I tried to tell people she had a chance, but few believed me. There was never a true favorite in the race.

WL will probably be back when season five comes out. To be fair, WL is pro-TM and anti-OB but did not believe TM would win, for purely cynical reasons similar to your own. I tried to explain to WL that if Viola Davis could win on a show without much acclaim, TM could also win, but WL kept wanting to discuss side arguments about how I misquoted WL.

I've convinced myself that TM would have won last year, but she was derailed by a bunch of idiots who refused to watch the show and put her last on the ballot. The Emmy committee changed the voting system due to this miscarriage of justice. Counting only who got the most top votes enabled TM to win this year.

I'll admit, I didn't think she had a chance. Happy to be wrong :)

It felt like a true David v Goliath battle, unknown actress from a tiny little Canadian sci-fi show with miniscule ratings, against well known past winners/Oscar nominees in ratings behemoths and highly acclaimed dramas.

Just one of those wins that it based purely on performance and nothing else!

You have to take into account all those past awards she won...the Canadian awards don't mean much to American voters, but she won two CCA's, a TCA, and had three other past noms. Her candidacy didn't come out of nowhere but had been building a lot of steam for a long time. It is much harder for voters to blow her off when she has had all that past success. And of course, she's that good.

WELL DONE! to our Tatiana (and it's about damn time).
