The Other Half article about Tatiana in movie with her beau

To fill any void in news about OB, here's a link to an article about Tatiana acting in a movie with her beau Tom Cullen in 'The Other Half.' FWIW.

Interesting... You can even get typecast as someone who plays multiple characters. I would have thought that would be almost impossible :-).

There should be news soon, they start production on Season 5 next Tuesday and hopefully we'll get some photos from a table read later this week. I wonder if they'll go after a famous face for Westmoreland or cast a working actor.

famous face
Most of the actors and actresses are Canadian. Indeed, I read a while back the show has been getting a government benefit because of this.

Christopher Plummer is 86, Canadian, and still working. I don't know that they could get him though. I also thought about Donald Sutherland for the role, he's 81. I think he owes it to Tatiana since his son botched her name at the Emmys.

It'd be great to get a well known actor on board for the show.

I agree with this sentiment, but the tone in the article suggests the opposite, that the preference is to cast less well known Canadian actors.

For instance:

But Orphan Black co-creator Graeme Manson says it's a "vote of non-confidence."

"The underlying message from the CRTC is we need foreign help to tell Canadian stories. That's frankly insulting to all of us," he told CBC News.

If these changes had been in place when he and co-creator John Fawcett were first pitching Orphan Black, Manson said, Maslany would likely not have been chosen as the lead — a complex role that requires her to play multiple characters.

"The points system would have opened up the show to American casting — far more than we were," he said.

"The networks would have pushed for a name."

It may well be that we can expect maybe a Christopher Plummer, but no Americans. If they can even afford Plummer.

One of the appeals of the show is the completely unknown actors/actresses. A famous face would ruin it IMO.
