Sometimes you can tell that a child actor is chosen for her looks alone. The rest of the cast of Orphan Black is stellar, so it's off putting when Kira's scenes come on and the kid has that same wooden expression every time.

It's not that easy for a child to act well. That's why there are only a few great child actors. She's not even that centric.
Yep. It's not as if they have years and years of experience.
Personally, I wouldn't be too hard on a kid because they might actually read these boards. Children react to words much differently than adults.
I'm sure she's doing her best. The series is hugely entertaining and she's part of it- she's part of a winning team.

Actually, I think she's been coming along in this last season, showing a bit more maturity.
Before, she was just a cute kid and that's all she needed to be.

Like how Wexler is the last name of the actress who plays Kira (Skyler Wexler), and the last name of Tatiana's character on Bieng Erica, who also had the first name of Sarah (Sarah Wexler).
Probably doesn't mean a damn thing, but it's a funny coincidence!

I think they have her wooden on purpose. She "feels" all the clones and it's obvious she has some extra sensory powers b/c she always knows when someone is coming. I see her as an eccentric little girl that knows more than she should and it makes her a little...weird.

Skyler Wexler looks like a little female Napolean Dynamite with her mouth constantly handing open because she has no facial expressions.

I agree her acting was fine in OB. Really people are so spoiled if they think her acting was bad. Not every child can be a Dakota Fanning or Saoirse Ronan.
