Just watched S4E1 - confused about Maggie Chen shooting..

In the episode, it seems like Beth did shoot Maggie by accident, when it was established earlier that she knew Maggie was with the Prolethians and killed her to protect Clone Club... Is this just a continuity mixup or does it get explained later in the series?

I think that was just our assumption. Beth was dead anyway, and no one could ask her.

True, "established" was overstating it. But it is what Sarah believed when she learned about Maggie's involvement, and to me it would've made more sense that way. Just a little bit of a contrived coincidence, then..

I think the term "retcon" is more appropriate here.

If I remember right, Helena said she had come over to their side. That's all Sarah needed to believe that Beth killed her to protect them from the Prolethians. There's never really denial or confirmation either wya. Just Sarah assuming and as the audience, we assume alongside her.
