Cal has been around at times but has not been shown on screen. Who knows where he was supposed to be when Kendall, Siobhan, Sarah, and Kira fled Iceland?
Also, I've been hearing chatter about Jesse coming back, but I've heard nothing about Cal.
they said he was gone somewhere? and gave a weird look when asked about it in episode 1
but that's it?
Did the writers just decide screw it?
Well, it is not the writers so much as the fact, as MS implied, that the actor has been on Game of Thrones, and the show runners are unwilling to recast Cal. Also, as I have complained many times in the past, the show cannot pay actors and actresses enough to keep them around when a more expensive show like GoT comes calling.
