There's no way that girl would ever be with him...

So, she's a total career-obsessed maniac who never goes home, but she falls for a 40+ year old intern loser ? c'mon.

It was realistic when she passed him off to another employee and kept walking.

reply

Yes, and one day, she'll wake up old and single, and wondering where her life went. I'm not sure she'd be entertaining company...

No, she'll marry some geek software engineer who can't get it up.

reply

That's a serious possibility too. Agreed.

Working hard is good, but one's got to have outside interests. I think she herself would have become an utterly dull person through living for work. It would do most people's head in.

Why do you think software engineers would have any trouble getting it up?

reply

I don't. It was just a stupid joke.

reply

I'd get it up for you every day baby.

reply

You can see in her face when she's mocking herself that it hits close to home. She didn't want to be work obsessed anymore.

I agree. That would never happen in real life.

reply

I disagree. I could see Rose Byrne´s character EVENTUALLY falling for Owen Wilson´s character after initially rebuffing him, which is what happened.

This has become the modern comedy staple - the beta male winning the heart of an alpha woman because deep down we all know she really just wants to be someone's doll. Virtually every comedy of the last 15 years follows this model. Goofy guy gets hot, driven, business-savvy woman.

I actually thought you meant the dancer though being with Lyle. Also would never happen.

reply

Of course she would.

He made an effort. That's pretty much all you need to do to visit moist town.

You guys all sound like *beep* shallow bullies for saying that Dana was out of Nicks league, she wasn't he's a great guy who deserves her. The fact that you guys are saying that she's out of his league just shows how dumb, shallow and mean you idiots are.

reply

but she falls for a 40+ year old intern loser ?

How come it seems like so many guys fall under the "loser" category when considering them for dating? Whether or not Dana would have fallen for Nick, I really don't see why you call him a loser. He is attractive, confident, great at sales, and has a pretty kick ass best friend relationship still going on while in his 40s. If that's losing, I want to be a loser.

reply

I found their attraction convincing.
