Why is every so blunt and horrible to each other?

The reaction's are unbelievable.

Take an early scene in the pub for example. The bartender outright calls the Priest's daughter a whore, and the priest barely bats an eye.

The only one they react to as being rude is the rich guy, and he is barely more rude than anyone else.

The inspector doesn't care if the priest sees him with a male prostitute.

Also, what the hell kind of accent is Aiden Gillen doing in this movie? So put-on.

Aidan isn't "doing" any accent. It's his Irish accent. Because he is Irish.

First time I became aware of Aiden Gillen was as Mayoral candidate Carcetti in the Wire, and he was superb, as was his accent.

Since that though I have seen him in Love/Hate, where an appalling Dublin accent was part of an overall weak performance, Game of Thrones where his Littlefinger is just plain irritating, accent and all and now Calvary where he was wooden and stilted and managed to sound stage Irish despite being Irish. I can't take him seriously anymore at all
