Does anyone know what "true story" this was based on? It said it on the screen at the beginning it was based on true events. Even through I thought the movie could of been better, maybe the book it was based on was better and more through! Does anyone know?
It was "inspired" by the murder of Elizabeth DeCaro. Her husband Richard hired a hit man who shot her twice in the head, but it was in the kitchen of their home on 03-06-92. Also Elizabeth was 28 years old and the mother of 4 children. The hitman, Daniel Anthony Basile, was executed by lethal injection in 2002.

My heart reaches out to my family: My Aunt, my Uncle and all my cousins for their courage and strength to write this book and especially Melanie. Elizabeth is now with our Father where she is at peace. May her love continue to shine in her children, her brothers and her sisters, for she will never be forgotten.

Though interesting, I really don't think that is it. I actually came across that case when I was researching the movie. It seems like that could be it, but according to the movie's writer those aren't the facts in the case. Here is Fugate's interview.
Although, it is possible. Here lately Lifetime's producers are getting really creative with their movie plots since we always try to find the true stories. Thanks for the link.
