some of the boxes were wrapped in laminated paper, making some collectors hate it, even though it means the box is protected from any liquid stains or drops that would occur. Some guy wants to pay $1500 for the set. if I list them, can other people give an opinion?

Are they all G1? I've sold a ton of Transformers on Ebay. Yes, you take a hit from seller fees, but it's where I've had the greatest success.
Anyway, list them.

Yes, all G1. Several box's missing flaps, laminated most of the big one's. If the box's are so devalued from laiminating I'm amazed he'd want them. The Styrofoam has writing on them. Some damaged like Optimus and Jazz with broken parts. The Predacons were complete, opened with bubble and cardback still. Fortunately I had the box's to ship them and the packing peanuts were cheap.

1500 is probably a pretty good deal if some are broken like you say.
