Toy Hunter(s)

I'm watching an hour long episode. It's Toy Hunters with an s on the end and it has Jordan with a sidekick. When this is over then they're airing half hour eps of Toy Hunter singular. Both are dated this year. Why the 2 different shows?

I think the Toy Hunters hour long episode was the pilot, then they made it in to a half hour series with just him as the "Toy Hunter".

Good. The next thing to do is to get rid of the other half hour slot and the other toy hunter and that will be the end of creepy little bastards harassing toy collectors.

"....and that will be the end of creepy little bastards harassing toy collectors."

Not to mention slowly destroying the toy collecting hobby by reducing it to a numbers game, and instilling the notion in viewers' heads that : "Hey! I can do like this guy, and get rich quick!".
The longer this series stays on the air, the sooner toy collecting will go the way of comic books and non-sports cards in the 90's - and neither of those hobbies have yet fully recovered.
And when this happens to toy collecting, the blood will be on Jordan Hembrough's hands.

Absolutely. It doesn't help the hobby that he's glorifying a turn em' and burn em' mentality. Add that to evilbay and toy grading and its a recipe for disaster.

I sell vintage toys, cards and comics on consignment simply to provide income for my own personal collection, meet people to trade with and b/c it's fun. But I'm a dealer now. I have a resposibility to be ethical on every decision. Not only for my own good. But for the good of the hobby. We have a new generation of collectors breaking into vintage toy collecting. And they are smart. They know how to research. The last thing we need is a bunch of little Jordans running around focused on what's worth what, apposed to completing collections and trading with other collectors.

"Destroying the toy hobby"
"...add to that evilbay..."

*FACEPALM*. Overreacting much?

Just started watching this show, and as a collector, really enjoying it. So Jordan is out to make money buying and selling? So what? He's clearly a massive toy enthusiast himself, and would undoubtedly have a collection of his own that he'd never sell. Plus he gets to buy and sell as a small business, thus basing his working life around toys. I would LOVE to be doing that.

Sorry to break this, but you two spewing hate for the show in every single thread is just...two lonely people spewing hate. Do you think the show's creators are going to go "Uh oh...Mongo Beefhead on IMDB has told us to stop filming!! I guess that's a wrap fellas :("

And "evilbay"? Without eBay, the toy collections of most toy collectors wouldn't even be worthy of being called toy collections. When eBay arrived in the late 90s, it changed collecting forever - giving people access to hitherto unknown numbers of collectible items, and facilitating worldwide trading. The last people on earth who should be whinging about eBay, are collectors.
