the lead guy in this one (alex) was stupid. did it ever occur to him that if it was real that him and his friends would die just like the first movie? he really believed it was real yet went to the place anyway! at least in the first one there was a good reason to go, and they didn't believe in that stuff anyway

You can tell that he's conflicted. Part of him believes it's all fake but a part of him believes it's real so he has to find out. In any case it's a huge drop off from the first.
