Rate the Roasters

#1)Amy Schumer: I thought she had the best jokes and best reactions throughout the entire night.
#2)Anthony Jeselnik: He was the crudest and bluntest. Very funny.
#3)Roseanne: She was the girl of the hour but I don't think her jokes were as funny as A&A.
#4)Ellen Barkin: Not all her jokes were on par but she was such a good sport and acted so drunk during her part.
#5)Jeffrey Ross: Someone else who tried to push some boundaries. Decent jokes but he gets more points for his looks. This guy needs a mirror stat.
#6)Carrie Fisher: I thought she was funny but I read reviews saying the opposite. I have no complaints with Princess L.
#7)Jane Lynch: I thought the jokes about her were funnier than her jokes. I'm also so sick of hearing that word resonate everywhere..."Glee".
#8)Wayne Brady: Nothing too impressive and he seemed offended at some of the jokes against him. He went too far with the Gottfried part too which was just annoying.
#9)Gilbert Gottfried: Granted I laughed but it wasn't with him.
#10)Seth Green: He was really boring and short and stale.
#11)Katey Sagal: I didn't get any of her jokes. I didn't even know who she was.

100% agree.

You only remember Gottfried, because he repeated the same thing for 20 minutes
"THE MICROPHONE IS COVERED IN PUBES, THEN ROSYZILLA GOES DOWNTOWN BEING THE FATTEST THING EVER I MEAN A GIANT BLUBBER MONSTER

reply

He didn't repeat the same thing for 20 minutes, he just expanded on the same basic premise, and upped the ante with each successive expansion. It was brilliant, because he completely occupies the world of the joke he's telling.

Very well said, sir.

#1: Jeff Ross. His whole set was consistently the funniest.
#2: Gilbert Gottfried. The first half of his set was the funniest, but then the second half wasn't quite as good. The farmer joke at the end was great, though.
#3: Amy Schumer. It was a solid set. Slightly better than her boyfriend's, I'd say.
#4: Anthony Jeselnik. It wasn't bad, but I'd say it's the worst he's done on the roasts so far.
#5: Carrie Fisher. Really good for a non comedian. A lot of it seemed improvised, or at least something she thought up while watching the other roasters. She was original and did a good job, even a little social commentary without being too preachy.
#6: Wayne Brady. It was cool to see him sort of out of his element, similar to his appearance on the Chappelle Show. He benefited from being a professional comedian, unlike a lot of his fellow dais members.
#7: Tom Arnold. Solid set after a surprise appearance. Glad that he and his ex wife could reunite somewhat.
#8: Jane Lynch. Never been a huge fan of her schtick. Again, she benefits from being a professional comedian at least, but I think they could have gotten a better roastmaster. Seth MacFarlane might be considered played out by now, but he did a much better job, IMHO.
#9: Katey Segal. I guess it's getting hard to rank at this point. IIRC, she was slightly better than Barkin and Green.
#10: Ellen Barkin. Did OK, just a little better than Green.
#11: Seth Green. He's a professional performer, if not a comedian, so he's not going to totally bomb like The Situation. That said, it showed that he was a bit out of his element.

#1) Gilbert Gottfried. Literally was crying with laughter.
#2) Amy Schumer. Finally turned in a good performance.
#3) Jeff Ross. The only thing holding him back, IMO, was the Paterno gag.
#4) Anthony Jeselnik. Funny content, but his delivery annoys me. Don't know what it is.
#5) Roseanne. Kind of "meh" in my opinion. She deserved the honor, and was a great sport, but her set moastly reminded me of how funny she *used* to be.
#6) Jane Lynch wasn't really in her element. Felt very forced.
#7) Seth Green. See Jane Lynch.
#8) Wayne Brady. Playing a character doesn't work for me... "Superblack" Wayne Brady was funnier on Chapelle's Show.
#9) Ellen Barkin. Again, not a fan of in-character roasts.
#10) Katey Sagal. Not funny, but then again I wasn't expecting her to be funny.
#11) Carrie Fisher. Just a hot mess of a performance. I know she's been through a lot, but I just felt uncomfortable the entire time she was on.

(FYI, Katy Sagal was Peggy from Married With Children, the mom from 8 Simple Rules, Leela on Futurama, and she's one of the main characters in Sons of Anarchy.)
