Gilbert Gottfried the funniest roaster on the dais?

What sort of *beep* up alternate reality have I stepped into? Gilbert Gottfried isn't funny...ever. But somehow, last night on the Roseanne Roast, he was. And not just a little funny. A bringing the house down, having fellow roasters and audience members rolling and weeping with laughter funny.

Yeah Amy Schumer, she was a contender for the best. But damn...she was out-roasted by...I'm sorry, my mind is still having trouble processing it.

And who took the stones out of Anthony Jeselnik? Not only did half the roasters ignore him, he gets up to the stage and he's border-line nice guy. I want the Jeselnik from the Sheen roast. Totally savage and funny.

And of all the potential lesbian action...only Carrie Fisher grabs Roseanne's ass? That was disconcerting.

I swear to god, there was a time when Ellen Barkin was cute. Or maybe I was just really young and a virgin at the time. Thank god I'm not really young any more. Oh, yeah, and uh, not a virgin.

You know, this wasn't the first time he was the funniest roaster. Shocks me too, but it's true. If you can get past his annoying voice, he's had some good roasts in the past. Not always, but at least a few.

Gilbert on roasts is almost always funny, he works his schtick into the ground and makes it work. He is genuinely a hilarious roaster who can bring the house down (look for his roast where he told the Aristocrats joke, brilliant)

Oh if you want him genuinely laugh out loud funny look for podcasts of Penn Jillette's radio show where he appears
