Poor CGI, nice summarized story

Think in Toy Story blended with Yu Gi Oh for animation, and in a time pressed Knights of Zodiac :)

i feel the opposite. i thought the CGI was pretty good but the story was a poor adaption of the first few story arcs.

I though the CGI looked great. Reminded me of Final Fantasy Advent Children.

I agree, the CGI quality was fantastic. It could rival Pixar.

It's everything else that's wrong with this movie..

I feel the exact opposite : nice CGI, poor adaptation of the story.

It was doomed to fail : how can you sum up 40 episodes of story (that depend on stuff being established in the previous 34 episodes) in only 90 minutes ? Impossible.

The CGI was pretty good, and the movie was a good summary of the Sanctuary Saga. Some changes were unnecessary, such as the Jack Sparrow-esque Deathmask and redesigning Milo into female (who I believe is Shaina and Marin fused into one character), but in the end, it was a nice update with good action scenes. The downside is the lack of character backstory (pretty much one of the reason Saint Seiya was so popular) due to the story's rushed pace, and the character designs -though fluid and well detailed- didn't have the same "feel" as Kurumada's original desings. Yes, I know that the manga designs are too 80's for today's audiences, updating character looks for the current times is a necessary evil (but still, how come iconic cartoons such as Bugs Bunny still look the same after 70 years?). I still think that instead of trying to modernize the original designs and make them look realistic, they could have gone the other way and do the same as the "One Piece 3D Adventure" with desings that were clearly drawn first and later had the Hi-Tech CGI applied to them, but that's just my opinion.

And don't forget Aphrodite.

That's *beep* unforgivable.
