New Updates

Anyone have an updated status on the show getting possibly picked up by another network?

I find it incredibly annoying that CBS would even bother picking up a show like Golden Boy; that offers all the thick plot twists, just to not even give it the chance to play out. The biggest downside to the show was that it was a mid-season replacement--you can't expect a show to pick up full steam when you stick it in the middle of the tv season(when the tv watching public has already decided their tv schedule)!!!!!!!

If CBS and any other studio for that matter is going to bail on shows like these, they need to stop giving the green light to shows with layered storylines and heavy twists. They might as well sell their soul and become like all the other lame networks that cop out (no pun intended) and show these ridiculously overexposed reality singing competitions. At least then people who were lucky enough to see the promotion of the show and watched it, don't have to be bothered wondering what happens to the characters.

If it were another singing competition, cooking competition (though I must admit I enjoy--Masterchef anyone?), a C-list celebrity dancing show, or any other ridiculous competition show I wouldn't give a flying *beep* what happens; but c'mon to cancel a show as ambitious and as rich in the storyline as this is ridiculous.

CBS made a big mistake.

It won't work. It never does.
Well, maybe. If Netflix jumps on it in a couple of years like they did with Arrested Development. But, realistically, I don't see it happening. How many times has another network picked up a show after it's been canceled? I can really only think of one, Futurama.

The craptastic Drop Dead Diva...a show that was once a guilty pleasure of mine but then became a cheesy breeding ground got cancelled by Lifetime and some other network picked it up...so I guess it can happen. I'm just so upset with CBS, CBS did this show a great disservice when it chose to bring it on for a mid-season replacement, they should of at least given it the green light for a few more episodes in the fall before deciding whether to axe it or not. Hell they could of even had it air in the summer, but to bring a show on mid-season is just setting it up for failure because people already have their tv schedules established--and at least for me, I'm away at College so I don't watch tv doing the regular season.

Drop Dead Diva got canceled by Lifetime, and then uncanceled. It didn't move anywhere else.

Uh no, originally it did. It got cancelled and was picked up by another network and now apparently Lifetime worked it's magic to keep it under it's grips. But a few months back it was moving networks.
