Lots of jealousy and insecurity

It's good that they don't sugar coat it and make it seem like there are no issues with this lifestyle, but some of these people don't seem too well suited for it.

Jen is an insecure mess. She seems very out of place and in it only to keep her husband happy. I feel sorry for her. She seems uncomfortable in her own life.

Kamala, who seems most evolved still wants her girlfriend on the side. Seems like a contradiction, or a typical affair like relationship.

Michael seems to assume that someone who wants his wife wants him too, which doesn't seem to be the case. Almost like a competition with him and Kamala.

Tahl just wants to bang everything that moves.

Yeah its crazy, almost like they're actual people or something.

No need to be bitchy. Common sense 101 would indicate if you're prone to jealousy and insecurity that this might not be the lifetyle for you.

reply

Not being bitchy. Just remarking that the people in the show are behaving like actual people, which seems to really put people like the OP off for some reason.

reply

Well since I'm the OP, why don't you turn your oversensitivity meter down a notch and address the actual comment made?

Agree/Disagree ? No one lifestyle is for everyone, so there's no need to get your panties in a bunch. Jen doesn't seem like she's in it for the right reasons. Adding something of value to the discussion, since this is your lifestyle, would be more productive than sniping. You claim there's misconceptions out there, and your reaction is to provide a bitchy comment instead of an intelligent answer.

Good luck with altering public perception with that nasty attitude.

I'd hardly call my reaction "oversensitive", but to each their own.

I would disagree. All of us are prone to jealousy and insecurity, its a natural part of being a social creature. I think if you are prone to habitual dishonesty, that would be a bigger indication that polyamory is probably not for you. Jealousy and insecurity can be dealt with by open communication and honesty; talk to your partner(s) and help them understand how you feel.

Habitual dishonesty is much more difficult to deal with because its antithetical to how polyamory works and actively undermines its structural support. If you cant be honest, you cant be poly.

My attitude is just fine. If my sarcasm at someone reaction to human beings actually behaving like human beings came off as hostile, I do appologize.

Jen had only one rule and he blatantly broke it. She is continually disrespected in season one. Her feelings are constantly being pushed to the side. That's not cool in any lifestyle. Telling her that she has to go or no one goes to the wedding planning... What a crock! And that's just two examples. It happened in every single episode and sometimes more than once.

I am a firm believer in polyamory, but she's married to a whore that has no business being married and the othher couple are just as disrespectful n their own right.

They are giving polyamory a very bad rep.

Polyamory = a license to cheat. No more, no less. Period

If you're not going to watch (or pay attention) then why comment?
