I hate that the CIRCLE was wasted.

They could have done so much with it and I miss Carlos Ponce.

They did this in season 2 with the Robin Hood gang as well.

I agree they could have done a lot with the story. There was so much potential to. Out of all the stories Devious Maids has done, I think the circle was the best one. It was involving Zoila who never gets to be included in the season mystery arcs. Genevieve was also included for a first, which seems pointless now since they didn't even wrap up her part of The Circle. The whole story was pointless now since the writers are done with it.

I'm also disappointed there was no closure for The Reverend. With the way he was acting, I thought he could be part of the circle going after Evelyn. It's a shame they let these stories go out on a fizzle. It could have been a real exciting story for a change. They could have brought all these supporting back burner characters to the front and give them something different to work with besides the usual filler fluff they always get each season.

Yeah, I didn't get closure with the Reverend.

Also we never got closure with that gay man who is trying to marry Susan Lucci. How he got into the circle with no $$$ is beyond me.

Yea this season was kinda rushed if they would've stick to 13 episodes we would've probably have everything solved.. hopefully next year they would get it together.

That's Lifetime's fault for the number of episodes. They cut the episode order to 10 this year. Obviously it didn't do the show any favors. The writers should have just stuck to Perri's murder this season and made sure there was a beginning, middle, and especially a proper ending. Having all these other stories that were left hanging was pointless to watch now.

I know, right? That's always gonna be a pet peeve of mine, and you were right to compare it to the Robin Hood gang storyline in season 2 (now that I think of it, we never even got to find out how Tony retrieved Evelyn's necklace from that hobo). We were led to believe the Circle was this cruel cult, responsible of God only knows how many kidnappings and murders, yet they had NOTHING to do with Peri's murder. So I'm left with the following unanswered questions: what was their purpose? They were blackmailing people into bankrolling them IN ORDER TO DO WHAT? To just live off their money? Why did they kill Ben? Did they even know Gail killed Peri? If they hadn't killed her and didn't even know who had (not even Hugh knew that, so I'm guessing they didn't either), why were they so hell-bent on having everyone believe it was Spence who did it? THE UMPTEENTH WASTED STORYLINE ON THIS FREAKING SHOW!

reply

The only thing I can come up with was the circle knew Gail killed perri they were blackmailing Hugh for money because they knew he was tuckers father so if The story ever came out that fail killed perri then the rest would come out and they wouldn't be able to blackmail him anymore so they let everyone believe spence did it to hide their secret.

Me too. No closure for the Circle or the Reverend. Very disappointed. Since next season is to take place a year later, they will probably have to flashback to where the show left off before making the jump. So maybe they'll discuss these topics. Probably not though.

bad ratings made the episodes drop to 10.

Yes, and thinking viewers are stupid is another reason why. Cutting the episodes, I think is a red flag. I'd be surprised if it comes back for another season. This was really bad. It had flashes of...potential, (definitely not brilliance)but was too rushed and badly written to take any real foothold.
