Amber's fate and the writers

I've only just watched this, two years on.

I get it that this series was more about the effect on others of Amber's disappearence than what happened to her. Because of that, I can almost forgive the ending.

What I can't stand is the writers' insistence that it was clear what happened to her, and that all the clues were there. I see from another thread that one of the writers said this in an interview, but buckled when pushed on the subject, eventually saying she was dead and killed by someone we had not met.

And in another thread, there is a link to a video posted by the other writer showing the supposed clues. Just seems like random clips to me.

Trust me, they don't have a clue about what happened to Amber, and it was never part of their plan. As I said, I understand that this wasn't really important (although it would have been good to know).

After I got over my frustration I regained my admiration for the way the series had been put together up till then. I particularly enjoyed O'Donoghue's plan for reparation in episode 2.

But they must be laughing themselves silly at the thought of people out there still trying to work out a solution that doesn't exist and hardly matters, and fanning the flames by suggesting there is one and the clues are all there.
