That kid doesn't realize(spoiler)

It was his fault his dad got turned to stone. He had to be so "cool" oh man the Elite are here imma see them. That part made me mad then he blames Superman. Then he wants to act like a big Superman fan at the end.

It goes back to what Superman's Smallville father said on the farm (Lord I forgot his name).

When people are scared they rally behind the person who seems to have the right answers with knowing exactly who that person. People like a shiny new penny. But you're right, the kid was stupid for running off towards a fight just because he wanted to see some action.

I think you meant to say;

It goes back to what Superman's Smallville father said on the farm (Lord I forgot his name).

When people are scared they rally behind the person who seems to have the right answers without knowing exactly who that person is per se. People like a shiny new penny. But you're right, the kid was stupid for running off towards a fight just because he wanted to see some action.

Etc.

Yeah I hated that kid. Who runs towards a supervillain who is killing people? And then he had the nerve to say it was Superman's fault his dad died. No, your dad died trying to save your dumb @ss.

It wasn't very clear how the father died, while his son escaped from the blast or shockwave unscathed. Shouldn't the Skull's energy have turned them BOTH to ash ? I chalked it up to them being far enough away to not be completely vulnerable to it, so that the dad's body shielding the son was enough to block it (like okay, whatever).

It didn't make a ton of sense as to why the body didn't crumble, either (someone else in this thread said they thought his body had been turned to stone). I guess it was just for dramatic effect, so that the kid could continue to cradle his dad's body.

Who let Atomic Skull live? Yep, Superman. So he does share some responsibly.
