Happy ending or sad ending?

This movie has a reputation of a sad ending. To me, however, the ending is bittersweet and perhaps more sweet than bitter. It provides a much needed closure to Varun and Pakhi's relationship. Furthermore, the masterpiece art of last leaf by Varun was an act of love and redemption, that gives Pakhi hope for a better future. Varun died a happy man. What is your opinion on it?
