Coach Penn playing second fiddle

With his coaching resume and large contract no flipping way he's either not A)running things or B)directly involved in the draft. Ownership would want more and most important his ego would never allow it.

Most highly paid coaches are secondary characters in the draft and free agent period.

Thats why it is such a big deal when a coach demands more control.

Penn only had one SB, there are alot of those around that dont get to tell the GM who to draft.

Mike Holmgren won one Super Bowl and had full control with Seattle.

History shows that championship teams have a head coach directly involved in the process. Not begging for a running back and sitting in the draft room like a common assistant.

Not destroy your post entirely, but Holmgren won as a Coach only in Green Bay..he went to Seattle as a coach and went to a SB (he lost)...he wanted to be a the Seattle GM/coach but ownership thought not.

This is a very late retort, but I was browsing through old posts.....

Clearly you never heard Bill Parcells complain after winning two Super Bowls and going to a third...that he was expected to cook the meal, but wasn't being allowed to shop for the groceries.
