I just started Season 2 on Netflix and I find Taylor Lautner funny as hell.

As good or better than Sanberg -- and I didn't like Lautner before seeing this!

reply

I agree. T.L. is funny.

i was pleasantly surprised with Lautner myself tho S3 is weak imo. 1 and 2 were amazing.

Lautner trying to cross a road is one of the funniest things you will see.

I am with you on this one. I really enjoyed the first season, Samberg's huge smile and enthusiasm was perfect for that character. He was infectious, and his love/hate dynamic with Ken (the dad) was perfect.

Now I'm watching season 2 ep 2 and it's just all wrong. Couldn't care less about this twilight pretty boy whose nose is way too small for his face. Chemistry is all wrong. And I haven't checked yet, but is Rachel played by a different actress too? There is no chemistry between any of the actors in this season so far.

I am rapidly losing interest...

I got into Cuckoo when Taylor was added to the cast in 2014. One of the funniest shows ever. The things they are allowed to do and say. Season 3 is just as entertaining. I saw some of season 1. It was all about one character hence the name, but I like how Dale Jr. was able to blend into the family and bring out their personalities. A good show that got even better. Taylor Lautner and his cute nose are damn near perfect. Pretty boy, indeed. Please post ur pic, so we can all comment. Or not.

LOL wow, had no idea that would upset someone so much. But I forget that there is a whole world of rabid twilight fans out there. I guess it's easy to forget here in the grown up universe. So it's really inappropriate that I have my own opinion about what I find attractive on a man (and what I don't)? One must be perfect looking in order to have an opinion about an actor? That's some interesting logic you have. It will probably horrify you that I don't find Brad Pitt cute either. *gasp!*

Sorry to have upset you. But yes, I find his nose to be too small for his face. That is a personal opinion. It is not mandatory that you agree.

now back to talking about the actual show...

For every one with your misguided sense of comedy, there are thousands of others who appreciate Taylor's impeccable comedic timing.

reply

Its not impeccable. It is wooden.

reply

Woah!!!

I didn't see that coming, no chemistry between Rachel and Dale???

I'm not seeing it yet. Yes, it is clear almost immediately that they are attracted to each other. Or at least that she is attracted to him and trying to downplay it. But what I mean by no chemistry is actually referring to between the actors, if that makes sense. With the first season it seemed pretty clear to me that the actors really gelled well and seemed to be really enjoying working together, playing off each other, and working toward the same goal. The second season doesn't have the same feeling to me--yet. However, I'm sure it must be difficult to recreate that chemistry between actors when the show undergoes such a major change as to lose the two main actors, and replace them with new people. I'm sure that takes time to grow.

And like I said, I'm only on season 2 episode 2. Not sure I'll bother to watch further. But it's my opinion, that's all. really enjoyed season 1.

I understand what you're saying, it's just that for me I thought the chemistry between Rachel and Dale really flies off the screen, especially in episode two with the dance scene. Which is why I was so surprised by your post, but hey if we all shared the same opinion about everything it would be quite a dull world.

If you're watching on Netflix, the music for the dance scene has been changed from the original BBC/Roughcut Television production. I really don't like the new music they've used and perhaps this is an example of how important music can be to a scene.

If you're watching the show for the chemistry between Rachel and Dale, then I think you're going to be disappointed, that is if you can't see it already. In any event, although Samberg and Lautner are the top billed stars of the show, it is really Greg Davies and the character of Ken that is the anchor for the show.

All of that said, you might find it worthwhile to carry on watching, I think episode four is one of the funniest in series two. It has different writers to the first three episodes and (as far as I remember) there is little to no focus on the Rachel and Dale dynamic.

samberg has that infection charisma. very few actors can act like a total dumbsht and have you still like it. i wanted to see cuckoo(the character) succeed in his own weird way so bad like maybe he hits it big with his potato franchise or something. they were hinting at how he was actually really smart(got into yale) but just took a different path in life.

taylor lautner just acts totally weird. that's it. he's weird and it's suppose to be funny. suddenly the show now revolves around the dad, who is only a good side character but obviously can't carry a show. they cast a new girl too who isnt nearly as pretty or natural. what she's doing to her devout boyfriend is disgusting. that's out of character for someone who'd fall in love with cuckoo.

the show has such a short season, they could've waited for samberg to be free. they could probably shoot his scenes in 2 weeks but they thought he wasn't necessary. well it turned the show from a sleeper hit into something mediocre.

It was good with Samberg it's hilarious with Lautner.
