Don't get my wrong I love Andy Samberg but I think the new Rachel ruined the show even more than essentially replacing Cuckoo with Taylor Laughter. She's not even the same character anymore, she has no personality of her own, is super shy, uncharismatic and adds nothing to the show herself the the old Rachel did. Had it been Laughter and the old Rachel I think the show would have declined sure but still have been enjoyable.
shareI completely agree! I just finished watching series 1 through 3 a few days ago, and was so disappointed in series 2 and 3. I guess that Taylor/Dale has his funny moments, but him coming in and replacing Andy Samberg was such a let down for me. I love Andy's acting in general, and Cuckoo was another example of how funny he can be. Rachel #2 is really awful, like you said. The first Rachel was perfect for the part and the new actress is just blah and definitely doesn't gel with the cast as well as the first one did. I guess she and Andy both had scheduling conflicts after series 1 since he was filming Brooklyn 99 and she was also working on another show, but I think that they just should have ended it after series 1 instead of trying to carry on with no Cuckoo and a different Rachel.
shareSeason 2 and 3 are great. Taylor brings a naive craziness to the show. Luv the interactions with Chief Ken,Steve. The new Rachel is more mature and her and Dale have amazing chemistry. AA cool, fun series. Ready for more.
I prefer the old Rachel.
